As a section leader and concert mistress in my high school's orchestra, I was responsible in helping my teammates learn the music and practice for performances. Developing proper techniques, rhythm, and focusing on problem areas in regular practice sessions are important points I help students work through. Whether it be private lessons for individual improvement and solo pieces or multiple people in an ensemble, the basic skills are important in conveying the meaning and emotions of a piece of music. I love helping motivated students of different ages to help develop their skill and reach their goals whether it be for a recital, performance, competition, or even for fun!

I like to use Essential Elements for beginners, especially children. It's also helpful to use if the children are in an orchestra. I also like to work with the Suzuki method for those who are interested in doing it. It's important that I help beginners in how to get the best resonance and basic techniques to build confidence for performance or specific goal they have in mind. I also create flash cards and games to help in understanding theory and notation. In older students I work with their goals and choose materials and books to work with it. Depending on skill I will also add more complex material to further develop a wider range of skills and techniques.
