I currently teach in the public schools during the day, and I perform and teach by night. I love encouraging my students to develop their skills while maintaining their love of music and learning. Honing a craft should not crush creativity, it should not stifle their individuality. Music making should be natural, passionate, and my job is to give them the tools to become the flutist *they* want to be! I love teaching private lessons, because unlike public schools, I can see the same students for years on end. It is extremely rewarding to see a child come into their own and become a talented, well-rounded musician.

I am a Suzuki and traditional teacher. I encourage public performances as often as possible and will help students identify appropriate opportunities to do so. Students who study with me drive their own education by making choices. You can choose Suzuki or traditional flute lessons. You can choose to focus mainly on classical music, modern music, pop music, or jazz music as suits your tastes. You can choose to pursue goals such as PMEA, college auditions, competitions, or a more casual learning that focuses on improving your skill without competing.
