Overview:
I graduated from Temple University initially in 2011, but was drawn back several years later to complete my Master's Degree, which ended in 2015. I have performed all across the state of Pennsylvania, in Connecticut, New York, Delaware, and as far away as Italy. I have played with youth, collegiate, and community orchestras and bands and as a soloist. I love playing with community and church members as often as I can.

EXPERIENCE
I currently teach in the public schools during the day, and I perform and teach by night. I love encouraging my students to develop their skills while maintaining their love of music and learning. Honing a craft should not crush creativity, it should not stifle their individuality. Music making should be natural, passionate, and my job is to give them the tools to become the flutist *they* want to be!
I love teaching private lessons, because unlike public schools, I can see the same students for years on end. It is extremely rewarding to see a child come into their own and become a talented, well-rounded musician.
METHODS USED
I am a Suzuki and traditional teacher. I encourage public performances as often as possible and will help students identify appropriate opportunities to do so.
Students who study with me drive their own education by making choices. You can choose Suzuki or traditional flute lessons. You can choose to focus mainly on classical music, modern music, pop music, or jazz music as suits your tastes. You can choose to pursue goals such as PMEA, college auditions, competitions, or a more casual learning that focuses on improving your skill without competing.
LESSON STYLE
I encourage student involvement and investment by allowing them to individualize their own lessons. What are the student's goals? Where do they need to be at a certain point in time?
All students regardless of goals will learn fundamentals of music theory as well as flute tone and technique. I also encourage flute students to learn a variety of genres, even of those outside of their main focus. A well-rounded education requires the flexibility to play in a wide array of styles as an opportunity may arise.
