Overview:
I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2012 I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and I am a Certified Music Teacher K-12. In 2014 I received my Masters Degree in Jazz Performance. After graduating college I begin to travel around the world performing music as well as performing here in New York leading a Jazz quartet and playing with many other groups performing many different styles of music. I'm a certified Music Educator K-12 and I have experience teaching Middle school and High School Band as well as teaching private music lessons to students of all ages on many different instruments.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching students of all ages since 2010. I have been teaching both in my home studio and at the students home, I have also taught in Public Schools and in Music stores. My goal as a teacher is to get students excited about music and have them looking forward to our lessons together and inspire them to learn more and practice. The Trumpet is my main instrument but as a certified Music Educator I'm comfortable and highly qualified to teach many different instruments such as all of the Brass Instruments ( Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, French horn, Euphonium, Flugelhorn etc) and all of the Reed instruments (Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute) as well as Piano and Voice.
METHODS USED
For beginning students just starting out method books like "Hal Leonard's Essential Elements" is very popular and useful or other similar method books that public schools use. In addition to working from the popular school method books and any band music I will assign different things for my students to work on to keep our lessons fun and engaging. Each student will receive instruction from me that will inspire them to practice and want to learn more and get better. I'm a friendly person and I'm looking forward to our music lessons together.
LESSON STYLE
I'm very grateful to be able to teach music and share my passion. My professionalism, and friendly personality will help musicians of all ages. I want my students to enjoy their lessons with me. I will teach my students how to get better on there instruments and I will motivate them to want to practice. I'll also provide my students with different music that I want them to listen to that will help them see how cool and amazing it is to be a musician. I'lll also see what kind of music my students might already be interested in and I will help educate them more about that kind of music.
