ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

BM, Molloy College, Music Business and Management

Overview:

I'm hard-working, dedicated and passionate about drumming. I've been playing drums for over twenty years, with about ten of them performing professionally.  Over the past ten years, I've had many incredible experiences touring nationally and internationally.  They are some of the most important years of my life, molding the person I am today.  I love nothing more than giving back what I have learned.

EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching drums privately for about ten years. I have toured extensively, nationally and internationally. Select Television Appearances:  Good Morning America, Good Day New York, The View, Good Day Texas, Cornerstone, TBN, NPR, The Engadget Show, TEDx San Francisco. Worked with artists:  Alex Ray Joel (Billy Joel), Cass Dillon, Disney's "Lemonade Mouth" (Bridget Mendler, Adam Hicks), Alex Winston, Sandra Bernhard, Natasha Owens (toured/opened for Michael W. Smith, Jason Crabb. Album produced by Ed Cash), Matt Butler (opening for Neil Young, Norah Jones, Willy Nile), Mike Del Rio (Powers)

METHODS USED

I use many different methods but most importantly I tailor the lesson to fit the student's needs. I like to write out lessons, but I generally start my students off using Benny Greb's "The Language of Drumming."  I like to teach the student how to play the instrument as if it were a language, in the form of an alphabet.  It's a great method in building a strong foundation with the instrument. We then move on to either Ted Reed's "Syncopation" or "Stick Control" by George Lawrence Stone.  While using these methods, we will learn different styles of music, work on different hand and foot techniques, independence, rudiments, etc.

LESSON STYLE

I like to design my lessons to fit the student's needs. I'm laid-back, easy going, and patient. What's most important to me is that the student is having fun and is comfortable. Giving back what I have learned is very rewarding for me.  We will set realistic short-term and long-term goals building a solid foundation.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
