ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:
Bachelor Degree: Berklee College Of Music
Overview:
I am enthusiastic and compassionate instructor with a desire to share my love of music. My musical background is rooted in the church and I have been playing since I was twelve years old. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2020 with a degree in contemporary writing and production. One of the highlights of my life has been travelling across Europe getting to share my gifts as a multi-instrumentalist, during my time in Europe I composed for Orchestras, conducted, ranged for shows, and performed. I play and teach electric guitar and acoustic guitar.
EXPERIENCE
I have many years of experience teaching in the classroom as well as teaching private lessons in my home studio. I approach each of my lessons fully committed to spark a student’s imagination and musical understanding through the principle that “Music gives wings to the imagination and life to everything.” I believe that a student will see dramatic improvement if they set aside a dedicated practice time and set specific goals to work towards. The true joy in my teaching is seeing students’ ideas develop and being there to guide them each step of the way. As an instructor my goal is to encourage all of my students to exceed the norm by stepping into spaces related to their goals and making those spaces their own.
METHODS USED

Beginner students and I generally start our lessons with Mel Bay’s Guitar Method 1 and Intermediate to Advanced students and I start with William Levitt’s Modern Method for Guitar Vol. 2. When students have mastered the fundamentals of their specific lessons I work with them on songs of their choosing and we put those fundamentals into practice. The books that we use for our lessons are merely a guidance to give us a unified vision. I work with students of all ages and levels in a joyful way to achieve greater success on their musical journeys.

LESSON STYLE

I aim to equip each and every one of my students with a level of musical understanding that will reward them with their own respect and passion for music. I believe that self-confidence and setting goals is important for development and so I encourage my students to embrace their own musical ideas while adjusting my teaching methods to each of them. I teach to give my students a great sense of self-confidence and to provide them with an understanding of musical expression so that they may unlock their full potentials.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
