Overview:
I am a professional musican that been playing music since I was a child in which I enjoyed sharing my experience teaching my friends so we could play together in bands. In junior high school I started playing in the school concert band until I finished high school. From their in my college career in Atlanta Georgia, I performed in many jazz concerts over the years. While I was in college I gave private guitar lessons on the side for extra credit to apply to my school credits
EXPERIENCE
Since my college career I was giving guitar lessons for students of many genre of music in which I specialized in jazz, and R&B. I held a large student base in wich most of the students had fun and inproved tremdously and went on to play professionly. If the students do not enjoy their experience in playing, I needed to find out what need to do to motivate them as an instructor. It's my job for the students to get the most out of their lesson's that they are spending their money on. I'd also encourage them to listen to other artist to get ideas to help them improve also.
METHODS USED
For entry level students such as children, I will teach them out of a method book to get them started. They will learn all the fundamentals the proper way to hold the instrument and tuning. And once they have improved to the point where have the ability to learn songs they will be taught the songs they will love to play. For intermediate students, they will be taught how to read chord changes and music theory to able to write their songs.
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style is to get the beginners and intermediate players to able to get to the point where really enjoying their lessons while really improving their skills. This makes me feel very good to see them grow musically. I set reasonable goals for them to strive for and help them get to the next level. By trying to find out what inspires the student, this will make a huge impact on the student's interest to continuing to perform at their best.
