Overview:
I have been a performer and teacher for 10 years now. I love collaborating and mentoring students of all ages, and I believe each student has their own unique experience and approach to making music. My goal is to help you reach your goals quickly and in a positive way. I graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Performance and have begun touring around the world as an instrumentalist and composer. I love leading masterclasses and teaching at homes or in my studio. Let's get together and work on some music.
EXPERIENCE
I actively teach lessons in NYC and Houston, Texas, and also offer Skype lessons. I have taught at Charter Schools, Public Schools, Music Camps, and I maintain a studio of private students. I have taught and performed at masterclasses throughout the U.S. I have also taught private students who have gone on to perform in Regional Orchestras, in Performing Arts High Schools, and gone on to perform professionally. I teach double bass, electric bass, guitar, general music, ukulele, ear training, and beginner composition. I hope to work together soon!
METHODS USED
I tend to start my lessons with discussing what has brought the student to their instrument, and what music they love. After learning about their hopes and goals, I start teaching from a technical perspective to help them get a handle on their instruments. From there I discuss practice techniques, music and guides to listen to, and start teaching them songs and repertoire they are passionate about. I love incorporating listening, writing, and seeing live music into a student's learning experience. I am flexible with students, and aim to personalize their listens to fit them perfectly.
LESSON STYLE
I have a friendly and open-minded attitude. I believe in mentoring and aiding, not just assigning work. I love to play the music we are working on together and i like working out the details as we go. I believe in following the student's goals rather than my own agenda. I am reliable and flexible with scheduling. I tend to bring worksheets or study guides as well as sheet music or books that go with our lessons. I also like to bring music recommendations and my own instruments to our lessons to hopefully expand a student's musical perspective!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
