2013 - Recorded at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA
My desire as an instructor is to help students reach their muscial goals the most efficent way possible. In 2012, I graduated from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA with a Associate of Arts degree in Guitar Performance. Since then I have been perfomring in the Los Angeles area with various bands. In January of 2013 I recorded at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA. I also write and produce my own music independently. There is nothing I love more than playing and spreading my love for music!
I began teaching guitar in high school while working at a local music store. I also recieved class credit by going to other schools in the county teaching classes in their music departments. After high school I concentrated on furthering my own muisc education. So I packed up and moved to Hollywood to attend the prestigous Musicians Institiute. After receiving my AA degree from MI I pursued teaching again, teaching at various music schools and in my own home studio.
My teaching methods depend on the student's age, experience and skill level. I do my best to try to keep it interesting. I teach my students songs that they want to learn, but at the same time I explain the music theory that goes with it. I teach finger and coordination exercises to help with technique. Knowing scales and chords is a must for clear understanding of how harmony works. It is also important to me incorporate ear training into my lessons because that is a very beneficial asset to have.
I love sharing my knowledge with others. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student acheive their musical goals. I like to keep my lessons fun and interesting. I try to create a fun but realistic experience to ensure that my student's interest is maintained while progress is achieved. I also welcome feedback from my students to cater to each individual's style and abilities. This helps me be more reflective and aware of each student's process.
