Overview:
I am passionate about music and passionate about teaching music, especially the drums! I recently received my Masters Degree from Manhattanville College and I hold a B.A music degree from Purchase College. I have performed from Canada to the West Indies and all over the US and of course I can be seen regularly here in NYC. Recently I have played at Carnegie Hall in New York City and will be playing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the summer of 2020. I am recently endorsed by Collision Drumsticks and Soultone Cymbals.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching drums for sixteen years along with over twenty years of professional performance experience. Practice is the emphasis as modern, contemporary and past lessons will be applied to students practice regime. Although the focus of learning music will be very serious we will also have lots of fun staying motivated and eager to learn. I am now offering online lessons also. This will entail lessons, NYSMMA and recitals. All aspects of one on one lessons are compensated with a unique Masters lesson on line.
METHODS USED
My methods include George Lawrence Stone, Ted Reed, Jim Chapin and more. These are essential material for all ages of students, from beginners to advanced. The key to our objective will be learning rudiments, sight reading and four way independence. The lessons will be guided by the students ability level and fun! With an online learning experience the student will gain the same lesson experience as a one on one lesson. My lessons can be held on Zoom or FaceTime. Theory and sight reading will be taught.
LESSON STYLE
All styles of music will be taught so all students can focus on whatever music they like best. Progress comes down to the student and practice. Realistic goals will be applied so accomplishments can be met. I hope to show students the inspiration of music. My instructor style will tailor the students individual needs. Inspiration and passion towards the arts will be expressed. The desire to create music and ultimately play music live will be the trophy. It is a joy and certainly fun playing drums and making music!
