Bachelor's Degree, Institut Catholique de Paris Associate's Degree, American Academy of Dramatic Arts
Born and raised in Paris, France I speak French, English , German and Italian fluently. From a musical family I began learning the guitar at age 6 and the cello at nine. I have had a passion for music from a very young age and would love to share this passion with new students. At 16 I shifted my professional focus onto acting and most recently graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Midtown Manhattan. I am both a working actor and a musician. I have been living in New York city for the past 2 years.
My teaching experience dates back to my highschool days in Paris where I started teaching three students once a week each to make some extra pocket money. I always travel to my student's homes and also have experience with online tutoring. I am used to teaching in both French and English as I use to cater to the international community of Paris as both a music and a language tutor. I took a hiatus from tutoring as I was studying for the past two years but am not rusty at all I believe and am ready to jump back in!
For beginning students I typically start them off with a very simple method of repetition and mirror working first with one hand on the instrument then progressing to fret work. The fundamentals may seem tedious but they are necessary to reach a basic playing level in a short amount of time. I like to use both classical and modern music to interest all of my students and introduce them to new musical genres. It also allows me to show them various methods without getting tedious. For intermediary and advanced students I like to adapt to their needs/methods. I communicate with all students on what they want to achieve and how they want to do it. I am here to guide the student into finding their own musical path!
I am very laid back as a teacher. I do not expect my students to train and rehearse like professionals. I simply give homework so as to remind what their path is and what is the best method to achieve their goals. The homework is also there to help work on the obstacles they will face in their training. I totally understand that this is a hobby and want people to develop a passion for music in their own time. This is about the student's experience. All i want is to provide a fun entertaining time to someone who will develop a skill that is an amazing reward after much hard work.
