Juan C. is a Colombian musician with over 10 years of experience as a performer, composer, arranger, and teacher. He has stood out in all the groups to which he has belonged for his leadership and exceptional interpretive skills. His extensive experience has granted him a profound understanding of wind instruments, making him a professional capable of comprehending and leading wind ensembles effectively. His music has been performed on stages worldwide, including Colombia, the USA, Japan, and Korea, by various clarinet quartets and wind orchestras. High-level artists have commissioned all the pieces for clarinet and clarinet ensembles, and their premieres have opened new artistic avenues for Juan. As a teacher, he has successfully mentored numerous students over the years, many of whom have gone on to complete university degrees in clarinet and composition. In 2017, a group of his students traveled to Kerkrade, Netherlands, and Valencia, Spain, achieving remarkable recognition, all due to their commitment to prioritizing art above all else.
Intro - Elemental - Intermedium - Advanced The level of instruction will depend on the knowledge and progress that each student has made in their musical journey, as well as the time they invest in their learning process. Details Classes will preferably be conducted at the student's home. However, if the student lacks the necessary time or space, my home is available for parents and students. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to periodically observe their student's lessons. This is especially important for younger students, as parental support and involvement are crucial for maintaining regular and focused practice sessions. Siblings are also welcome to be present during the lesson time, provided they are accompanied by a parent and do not cause any disruptions. Consistent attendance is vital for a student's progress and success. Please ensure that your student attends every lesson. Materials The necessary books and repertoire for the classes will be communicated by the teacher during the first class. Additionally, information regarding where these materials can be obtained will be provided, enabling parents to acquire them for future classes. For clarinet, saxophone, Fagot or oboe student’s reeds should be provided by the parents. I can offer guidance on finding reeds at lower prices and selecting the appropriate sizes and brands for each instrument. It is recommended to have a cleaning kit for each instrument (regardless of the type). This will help in maintaining the instruments in good condition.
