I am a very personable, friendly and goal oriented teacher. I am driven by my passion to help others reach their full potential. I know music and its ability to transform the human experience. I am creative and a problem solver and no vocal issue is impossible to address. When an issue presents itself, I determine to find a solution. I am very detail oriented but know when to take a step back and look at the big picture. I enjoy challenges and see them as opportunities to grow and improve skill. I am a great listener and critical thinker. I value respect and effort.
My 5 years of teaching experience, and 20+ years of performing experience has helped me gain a storehouse of helpful knowledge, wisdom and methods. Having worked with all voice types, I have learned that each voice is unique and should be treated as such. I have always allowed my students to work at their own pace, but I have also learned when it is more beneficial to help push my students. As a performer, I have been commended for my artistry. This artistry comes from my experience with a myriad of singers and performance opportunities, including the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and La Madeleine in Paris, France.
Initially, I assess students at their level and accept their level. Then, we establish a clear goal and assess the reasonable steps to achieve this goal. Each lesson is personally tailored to the students needs, with a focus on where that individual student needs to grow. I believe that the lesson time is not simply a time to "practice", but it is a time to assess if the student is practicing correctly outside of class throughout the week. As your teacher, I will be your ear and eyes to keep you on track and to make sure all you do is beneficial towards achieving your goals. I will help you to see what work you are doing correctly and what still needs fixing. I focus on exploration of music and exploration of your own voice's abilities, strengths and limitations.
Each student is different and as such, each student's approach to learning music is different. While still addressing your personal goals, I work to help you achieve those goals and interests, but also utilize my own experiences in teaching to foster deeper growth. I focus on exploration, keeping the study interesting, all while understanding that each student can be at any level, and learn at any speed. I believe that both talent and potential must be met with effort for growth to be achieved, and that all students need some form of discipline and encouragement and make sure to serve both at every lesson.
Excellent teacher! My 5 year old just signed with 2 agents in LA because of Ms. Juliet's help! Kelsie loves her and won't have any other teacher!
Excellent teacher. My son has been working with Ms. Juliet for over a year now and his improvement made his choir teacher cry! Highly recommended!
The best music teacher I've ever worked with! Ms. Juliet helped me land two roles and get into my dream music program! Great teacher and friend.
