EXPERIENCE
Ever since I was young I was learning all I could about music. I took classes in highschool (even helping my music theory teacher teach the class when she was busy). I graduated from Mansfield University with a degree in Music Education. I also am a signed recording artist so I meet many different types of people in the music business. METHODS USED
I generally do not teach directly from a book. I only use them as guides. I always felt that was the lazy way of doing things. A book doesn't know the student. I find that students of any age, learn and adapt to teaching in different ways and speeds. I start from the very bottom and we build every lesson, using previous lessons as building blocks. I take pride in teaching the way that works best for you or your child. Whether its hands on, hands off, flash cards, etc... Every lesson will be prepared with THE STUDENT in mind...
LESSON STYLE
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student develop the same passion for music that I have. It is very important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting goals at each lesson, by a deadline, etc. Acknowledging accomplisments helps fuel a students desire to progress and makes them eager to learn more. Finding what inspires the student is the best possible way to tailor each lesson to their wants and needs. Each lesson is unique for each sudent. I do not generally work with a set script because everybody is different...
