Hi! I am an internationally acclaimed performer and teacher. I have the privilege of performing all over the world as a Conductor, Organist and Pianist. I am a huge believer in the power of music to change the world. I work in Haiti every year helping the National Orchestra players as well as present an Annual Children's Benefit in NY every year to help at risk kids. I have a Doctorate from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York City where I was a Professor for many years. I work from my sunny studio on my concert grand Yamaha in Washington Heights Manhattan where I love working with students of all ages and levels of experience.
I have been teaching privately since I was in high school and have never not taught ever since. I spent many years teaching at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music in New York City. I have given masterclasses in universities around the globe. I love to teach music to students of ever level. The progress of a student at any level is incredibly satisfying for me. I make the lessons fun and productive at the same time - very important! I have students who studying for fun and those who are active professionals and want to continually raise their level of expertise.
My teaching philosophy is the same for any level student - that the experience be enjoyable, supportive and productive. The first lesson is a get to know each other and assessment of where you are in your musical journey. I use a variety of different books - note spellers, beginning books etc. - depending on the specific need of each student. For more advanced students I draw upon the great repertoire of music that is out there. I work with the student to be sure we work on music that is engaging and fun for them.
My teaching style is all about connecting with the student in a way that is fun, engaging and fulfilling as we work on their musical abilities and goals together. I set goals for each lesson so that the student realizes they are making progress every week which in turn inspires them to greater and greater heights. It is very important to me that each student be approached as an individual. Too many teachers take a one size fits all which is short sighted and unproductive. I have a lot of experience working with special need children as well and this experience has taught me so much about the individual approach.
