Overview:
I'm a independent freelance performance artist, sound engineer, and educator. I started teaching music and audio production in 2012. I graduated in 2016, and started pursuing a career in audio production in film. My personal philosophy is that anyone can play any instrument, as long as they pour their heart and soul into learning music. I consider myself a self taught multi-instrumentalist. I've always had a passion for challenging myself and learning new instruments. In my lessons, I engage my students with creative collaboration. Focussing on building confidence, while influencing the will to vigorously practice technique.
EXPERIENCE
I have been a performing live music for over fifteen years. I have a lot of experience working and collaborating with other musicians on a professional level. I began my teaching career working part time at a local at risk youth education center. I taught music there for the four years I was in college, while also working as an instructor at Guitar Center Studios. Where I offered private lessons in music and pro audio. My skills include strong curriculum development and the ability to create progressive lesson plans .
METHODS USED
My methods are unique and effective. First I share with my students the history and culture of the instrument. Then I teach how the instrument works, explaining every detail. I use simple exercises that quickly ingrain a foundation for progression. Next I build confidence by playing along in collaboration, while teaching synchronization and tempo. As the student progresses I introduce more exercises that increase skill level. Once ready, we start playing full songs and compositions. Then I begin demonstrating the importance of dynamics and style. I introduce new genres, and then encourage the student to learn their favorite tunes.
LESSON STYLE
I must inspire every student to learn and engage with the history of music and its effect on culture and society. To me, music is a healthy therapeutic outlet for emotion and creative expression. I encourage practicing every day, and falling asleep with the instrument in hand. I praise my students a lot and complement every accomplishment. I love building their confidence and knowing that my student is progressing faster than expected. Music is my favorite thing in life and I love sharing the joys of playing music with others. I greatly enjoy jamming along with my students. To me, it's the best job in the world.

Justin was my son's guitar instructor at guitar center studios. Me and my husband were very impressed with our sons progress and how quickly his attitude changed toward music. Our son began practicing guitar everyday, and by the 4th lesson he began to sing along while playing songs.
