With nearly 14 years of playing and performing experience, and 5 years teaching professionally, I am able to offer my students a diverse range of educational resources. I have been a part of the Marking Percussion activity for almost 10 years, 4 of which have been teaching. I was also a part of a professional band for 7 years which gave me the opportunity to be a session drummer in many different studios around South Eastern Michigan. I have the knowledge and ability to teach many different styles on drum set, concert percussion, and marking percussion.

For beginners, I typically start with Stick Control: For the Snare Drummer by George Lawrence Stone, and The Drumset Musician by Rod Morganstein. Once the student has grasped the fundamentals, I sculpt the lesson plan depending on the style(s) the student would like to learn, from Rock and Funk to Jazz, Latin and more. For intermediate to advanced students, I try to figure out what goals the student would like to achieve, and then plan a lesson that will help the student achieve those goals.
