I am a passionate and dedicated instructor, who has been working on training the voice for 9 years. In 2017, I graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in Music, concentration in Classical Voice. From there I’ve been working on my masters at the University of Bridgeport in Music Education. I will obtain that degree in December of 2019. I have had the opportunity to perform across the world, and it has been an amazing experience. I have performed and taken masterclasses, in not only Connecticut/New York area but also Salzburg Austria.
My teaching days, start back to when I was in high school. I have been directing the children’s choir at my church since 2009, here I develop lessons for students 5-10, each week to get them performance ready for performances once every 2 months. I have also been a voice instructor for the past year. I love being able to watch my students grow and learn the beautiful art of music. I have had experience in teaching Classical Voice and Piano, also rock, pop, and music theater for voice. I love encouraging my students to learn whatever style of voice that they enjoy, to allow my students the best and most enjoyable learning experiences.
For all students, I enjoy individualizing each student’s lessons. I talior each lesson, to whatever the student wants to learn. I enjoy allowing my students the freedom to pick what style of music they would like to learn and we go from there. I make sure that the style we are learning are both enjoyable and challenging to ensure the student is always learning and growing as a musician. For beginner piano students, I use the book “drill it or kill it” by Kathi Kerr. This book is great for students first learning the piano.
For me, nothing is more rewarding, than to see my students follow and pursue their dreams. I believe that all students are able to carry their dreams out to the fullest as long as they put a little hard work and dedication. I enjoy bringing this to the classroom because it shows my students they are able to do anything that they put their heart and soul into. I encourage my students to work on their own pace by practicing as often as possible, while still challenging my student as much as possible.
