I am passionate about giving you the skills to have music in your life forever. I have a Music degree (BA) from the University of Vermont and extensive piano, cello, and violin experience. If you are seeking clear explanations, guided lessons that are individualized, then I can provide this to you.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching originated in high school when I taught a few beginners the wonderful basics of the cello. I've now taught for over 15 years and have brought all students of all levels to new heights. When teaching, I explain what it is that I do when I play and how to learn this. Just performing would not allow me to share my insights from years of my musical journey.
METHODS USED
Will utilize a blended approach with parts of all major methods. I also determine if it is bet for the student to read music while learning how to play or to delay music reading. It is important for me to understand what styles of music is loved by the student. This way will enable me to select the pieces that are exciting and this will guarantee practicing.
LESSON STYLE
I will help foster excitement with the music styles that the student wants and tailer my teaching using what is preferred. I do not take the lazy way of teaching straight out of a book cover to cover.
