I'm a violinist from New York City currently living in Texas. I have a passion for teaching and have been working with students for three years as a private violin teacher, chamber music counselor, tutor, and teaching assistant in NYC and Texas public schools. I graduated from Third Street Music School in 2013. I have had the privilege to play in halls in New York City like Symphony Space and Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, Avery Fisher Hall, and Bruno Walter Auditorium. I also enjoy playing for nursing homes and elementary schools. Along with orchestras and ensemble groups, I've played for Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of NYC, and Kevin Spacey.
I have been playing violin for more than a decade. I began teaching violin three years ago at the same music school I started my own studies in. I started as a summer chamber councilor and then began teaching students as a private instructor. I use mainly the Suzuki method, and other non-traditional methods. My goal is to have my students progress in their instrument, and not only gain important skills, but also grow to love music!
I mainly use the Suzuki method, but also teach other non-tradiational methods including hmyns, gospel, ect.
I believe in incorporating positive reinforcement in my lessons. I set realistic goals and develop lesson plans. I encourage my students to progress at their set pace. I tailor my teaching methods to my student's needs in order to have the most productive lessons. I strive to make each lesson with my student a great learning experience.
