2013 - Performed at Van's Warped Tour in Orlando, FL with Shout London
Since the age of 11, I have been composing music of all genres and styles, learning how to perform on as many instruments as I could get my hands on. I have worked as a producer making music for multimedia and have written music for groups to perform. I am a fun and friendly person that always strives to have an open mind, thinking of myself as only a beginner in this passion for music I have. I specialize in all types of drums in percussion and can teach music theory as well. I look forward to teaching YOU how to be an awesome musician!
In middle and high school, I performed on saxophone, bassoon, drum set, all percussion, and guitar every year. I performed jazz, classical, military, big band, and marching band music. Served as head of the drumline in high school and taught many musicians how to perform on the snare drum, multi-tenors, bass drums, and mallet percussion. In college, I got more busy with schoolwork :( but I had time to compose music on my own and join a local pop-punk band called Shout London. I performed on the synthesizer and drum kit as well as mixing the EP we performed at Van's Warped Tour. Now I work as a producer at a company in Orlando that creates multimedia products and services.
For younger students I start off really easy because I want the student to not be intimidated by the learning curve of instrument mastery. I strive to make the student feel like they are succeeding every step of the way. Before each class I have my full lesson prepared and can use a standard musical instruction book if the parent would like or if I feel that it is necessary. I have an upbeat and motivating personality that usually translates to the student being more determined to succeed in each lesson. And I prepare the student with what we will be doing next time in order to always have efficient classes.
My style is relaxed, making sure not to cause any stress from overpracticing or the worst--teaching in an intimidating tone. I put myself in the students shoes in order to understand what particular skills need to have more attention put towards them. I may seem difficult to tutor through video, so I have earbuds with a boom microphone to ensure I can hear you as clearly as possible and you can hear my voice as clearly also. I believe that repetition is key to mastery so I will sometimes ask you to practice exercises for homework or in front of me. It has made a huge difference in my performance and and surely will for you too!
