Overview:

Hello there!    My name is Kevin. I am a 27-year-old musician and graduate music student at Cal State East Bay. I have been teaching for over 5 years both privately and in group setting. I currently hold my bachelors in music from San Francisco State University. I am a multi-instrumentalist. I studied jazz/pop/classical bass and piano while attending San Francisco state. I have also been playing guitar since high school and have years of private lessons.  I enjoy teaching and feel I can be a great fit for reverb lessons! thank you. I have been teaching piano, guitar, bass and music production from my house studio in Berkeley for over 5 years now. I currently teach from my graduate studio at Cal State University East Bay.  I also have taught for groups for a former organization called Music Camp Rocks in Pleasanton, California. In music camp rocks we taught kids to work together in a band and perform songs. at the end of their session they would perform on stage.  Since then I have been teaching professionally from my school office and my home studio for several years. I make learning music fun and enjoyable for all ages!

EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience started in college, as I began teachin private lessons pasrt time 6 years ago, and I have been consisting teaching either on school campus or at my home studio. I encourage regular practice and like to set up consistent schedule's is something I encourage young students especially for the parents involved. I use a combination of both classical technique combined with modern music. I try to make the music something fun to learn so students will want to continue learning their instrument. I encourage my students to enter competitiions and recitials as well as compose and write their own music. I'm alway looking to bring in new students of all ages!

METHODS USED

For beggining students and especially children I will start with books such as the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has graped the fundamentals of musical theory and scales , we will begin to introduce a solo repertoire appropriate for skill set and age. For adults I simply try to find what the studenet is interested in, and guide my instruction accordinglu to keep the lessons fun and engaging, no matter their ability level!

LESSON STYLE

My style is to get students to start performing and playing songs, so that they maybe come as passionate about music as I am! I try to keep each student at paces they are comfortable with and set goals for each student to get to the next level. I tailor my instruction to inspire students to create and make music.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
