Overview:
I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages. I am passionate about developing and strengthening the voice as well as a student's musicianship. In 2012, I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor Of Music degree in Vocal Performance. I have performed nationwide in the genres of both classical and blues. I have had the opportunity to perform with various choirs at Carnegie Hall in New York. In my recent endeavors, I have performed the opera Tosca with the South Shore Symphony and have also performed Verdi's Requiem and Haydn's Mass in C. I have been teaching voice for 8 years and love to broaden my horizons with student's who have a passion for music.
EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time at various studios and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the past 6 years. I like to emphasize a consistent schedule of practice, so that this helps the student progress in their studies. I have also found that by combining styles of classical and modern music can help the student gain a better understanding of their instrument. I encourage students to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on their original compositions. Most importantly, we must have fun in each and every lesson!

METHODS USED

For most students, I typically start with breathing exercises and warm ups to learn the student's voice. I would ask for the student to prepare a song of their choice and we would typically spend a few lessons learning the fundamentals and engaging in proper technique. I like to make learning fun, so there are a few exercises that I have up my sleeve that are engaging and fun, no matter what the student's ability level may be. Once becoming acquainted, we would then move into solo repertoire of the student's choice genre and dive deeper into expanding the voice and breathing ability.

LESSON STYLE

Nothing means more to me than a student with an appetite and love for music! It warms my heart when a child grasps a concept in a lesson and really understands what we are aspiring to. This is the most rewarding for me as a teacher. It is very important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. By learning each student's needs, I can successfully tailor my instruction to help the student succeed and gain confidence in their musical ability!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
