2009 - Chapman Conservatory of Music Talent Scholarship 2012-2013 - Performed with the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra
Overview:
I have had a love a music for as long as I can remember. My mom used to play in her community band when she was pregnant with me. In 2013, I graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor's degree in music performance, primarily in Trumpet and Bass Guitar. While in High School, I performed in every Ensemble I possibly could, which includes Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. When I got accepted into Chapman University, I slowly but surely ran with the big dogs there as well! I have also done paid performances with various Rock groups that I have either formulated myself, or joined in as an additive.
EXPERIENCE
I have had a good amount of performance and education experience, and look forward to passing the torch onto other ambitious, aspiring musicians. I have taught at two private music lesson agencies, one called Music Maker where I taught Brass in Anaheim Hills, as well as AMI music in Brea, CA where I taught beginner guitar. I have always had fun learning and making music, so to help someone else do the same is my primary objective. As long as you are enjoying it, your talent level only comes secondary to your passion.
METHODS USED
With any student who is in a beginning sort of stage with their musicality, I will start off by teaching them basic techniques, simple notes or chords(dependent on the type of instrument), and rudimentary knowledge of the notational system. Once they have started to make some progress, I take a unique approach by asking them of their own opinion for where they would want to see themselves go. I do this to not only make it as exciting as possible for the student, but to help them achieve a vision they already have for themselves. Because musical expression can have so many colorful ways of being created, and it's important for every artist to find their own vision. Their ideas can range from learning how to write their own songs, or to learn how to read through solo repertoire and recreate it for an ensemble in school. Whatever it may be, I would help them along that path without a doubt.
LESSON STYLE
When I see a smile on someone's face in the presence of a musical accomplishment, the spiritual reward for that service is something I live for! To be able to help a student attain their goals requires a flexible teaching style, that can cater to every type of person. Positive affirmations are a key ingredient to helping a student feel good about they mile stones, but remaining realistic for the student at the same time allows them to make progress at their own pace, and feel good about it nonetheless.

Kyle is passionate about music. He has a lot of patience and calm for my not always so patient elementary-school-aged boys. Kyle goes over the fundamentals and leaves something fun to master which makes his lessons very motivating. Kyle is a natural at teaching. We love that we receive quality trumpet and guitar lessons with one visit. My boys look forward to their music lessons.
