Whether its to develop musicality or to hone individual's instrument techniques, I believe that each students requires different goals to achieve specific results. In 2016, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. Prior to being a full time professional record producer in Manhattan, I have been performing and recording globally as a soloist, in orchestra, and lead my jazz trio. I am a very motivated and well organized instructor and I will share my knowledge and experiences to students in tailored.
I have been teaching students for more than 7 years from beginners to professional performing artist. My methods of teaching is tailored to each individual students as I understand that general methods of teaching a performing art does not apply to all students. Practical methods on practicing and understanding the importance of a musical piece is critical and I will be guiding my students to make sure that they gradually learn this as our lessons goes by. I always encourage my students that practicing must be enjoyable and must have a goal each and every-time students practices.
All my students will get several questions from me prior to a lesson. They will be asked about what there goals are and how they want there lessons to be done. (i.e. concert pianist, recording session pianist, college degree in art performance, hobby etc...). With all my students, I recommend different repertoires and approach on how to develop a solid techniques. For advanced students, I conduct them to be able to perform with right emotions and manners towards audience. It is critical that I have enough conversations with students to make sure how to take this lesson and benefit the most.
I once was a student and I understand how important it was to find a teacher that can teach what I lacked the most. This is exactly why I do my lessons to be costumed to each and every students! I try to inspire students with what they can accomplish and what they needs to be challenged. Understanding concepts and how to target a goal is very very important. Implementing a methods on how to practice effectively and making sure that students pursue an interest on practicing and reaching for there goal is my style of teaching.
