Hailed as “a voice to remember” while performing at The Rockwall Music Festival, I've been an active young artist, appearing in a number of leading and supporting operatic roles such as Palemon in Thais, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Les Comtes Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Dancaire in Carmen, and Simone & Marco in Gianni Schicchi. I made my musical theatre debut as The Beast in Beauty and the Beast in 2011. Most recently I made my Kennedy Center Center debut singing the leading role of USMC Philip in the new Opera “Fallujah” by Tobin Stokes & Heather Raffo. “In the opera “Fallujah” LaMarcus’s sensitive and vulnerable portrayal is riveting. His vocal command will have you hanging onto every note”- DCMTA
Adding to my numerous appearances, I've performed a broad array of oratorio and sacred works including Kodaly’s Te Deum, Malcom Archer’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Missa Sancti Nicolai, Mozart’s Requiem, and a recital January 11, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. I've been a soloist with the Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra, Dallas Baptist University Chorale, Texas A & M Chorale, and have performed with Jazz at Lincoln Center alongside Wynton Marsalis. I've appeared in a recital in Dallas, Texas on January 11, 2013 and made my Carnegie Hall debut in Karl Jenkin’s “The Armed Man” Mass of Peace on January 21, 2013. I took First Place in the 2012 Nico Castel International Master Singer Competition at Carnegie Hall. Recently, I was awarded an Encouragement Award for 2012 from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition (Eastern Region).
I am currently an very active performer in the United States. I have been a teacher at a small charter school in Brooklyn, teaching ages 14-60. I have a true a passion for teaching and most importantly toooons of patience!
As an active performer, I expect a lot from my students. Anyone who is contacting me will definitely get A BIG BANG FOR THEIR BUCK!! As a young teacher I'm not intimidating but up to date with the younger students. With the older students I am informative and helpful wrapped in grace, class and respect!
My teaching style is molded around the student. The first lesson will consist of me asking the student what he/she wants out of music and out of the specific discipline they have chosen. After that, I tailor the lessons to them and their learning speed.
