I'm a classically trained pianist who has a passion for music instruction. I love to share knowledge with people.
I've been teaching for 20 years. I love to teach primarily because I like to impart knowledge about music; but I also enjoy interacting with people. I think that the student/teacher relationship is a very importnat element of music education. I'm a patient teacher who creates a comfortable atmosphere for students. I find that this greatly facilitates the learning process.
I give students a core musical grounding in classical music; I also incorporate other styles of music in order to produce well rounded musicians. When students find themselves having the skill to play their favorite songs their confidence and enjoyment is enhanced.
Piano Lessons should not only be interesting, engaging fun and exciting; they should also give students a solid musical grounding. Upholding high educational standards makes lessons gratifying and inspiring because students see themselves making real progress at the piano. Musical education is a many faceted endeavor. It’s not enough just to present information to students. A teacher must also create an experience where a student feels engaged and inspired, and, ultimately, the goal for every student whether or not they go on to pursue music is to develop a love and appreciation for music. A teacher needs to be patient, and to see the needs of each student and to adjust accordingly. In this way every student reaches their potential at the piano, whatever that potential may be.
