My name is Linda. I am an opera singer and voice and piano teacher based in the Bronx, New York. I have been teaching private and group lessons since 2015 and have grown to love it. In 2018, I graduated from the CUNY Macaulay Honors College at Queens College with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. I have performed all over the world and in famous venues including Carnegie Hall, the United Palace Theater, the United Nations, Avery Fischer Hall, and more. I now maintain a teaching studio throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens.
I started teaching privately in college, at the age of 18 in numerous studios throughout New York City. I have taught people of all ages, from the age of 5 to people in their 70s. Setting realistic goals and making sure my students have proper practice habits is key to ensuring their growth in both singing and playing the piano. I also like to delve into what my students want to learn and am open to working on any style, including classical, pop, rock, and more. It is a joy to help people reach their musical goals and watch them improve their singing and piano playing.
For my piano students, I like to use a mixture of books from the Alfred, Bastien, and John W. Schaum collections. I eventually assign more advanced solo repertoire as the student progresses. For my vocal students, I pick music based on their interests and vocal qualities. I have taught my students musical theater, opera, art song, gospel, pop, and many other styles throughout the years. I also like to make sure my students have a solid understanding in music theory and often give out worksheets that help them practice how to sight read, recognize different key signatures, and more.
My teaching style involves setting realistic goals and making sure the environment is fun and invigorating. I always like to make sure I am teaching my students what they want to learn, but I do occasionally challenge them by assigning more advanced material that I envision them performing or think would be beneficial to them. I celebrate all of my students' achievements and always remind them of how far they have come, especially when they get to more difficult material that may test them. Overal

She is a wonderful singing coach, knowledgeable, honest, patient, and inspiring at the same time. Not only she has amazing voice, but also has very good ear and can immediately tell whenever one is off tune or not. Linda combines rigorous demand for perfection with warm encouragement and repeated demonstration of how to improve. I am blessed that I had her as my coach. My son and daughter have been taking vocal lessons with her. She has such a pleasant and positivo demeanor with the kids. She is working on helping both of my children build their confidence and love for singing. My son was a little reluctant to start but after one session with Linda he changed his mind.
