I am a passionate and supportive vocal coach who loves sharing my knowledge with my students. Seeing them grow and succeed makes me feel happy. In 2016 I graduated from Saarland University of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance and vocal pedagogy. After graduation I had opportunities to sing in various concerts, opera and musical theatre productions in Germany, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, London, Nicaragua and New York. I am classical trained and have the ability to sing musical theatre, pop and chanson.
I began teaching in 2013 during my studies in singing. I prepared my students for auditions and entrance examinations at performing schools and music universities. I can teach opera, musical theatre and pop as well as songwriting and music theory. Besides finding the voice, I also do personal development coaching and confidence training. I motivate my students to practice at home and to join as many musical projects as possible wether in school or in a band. This is how my students can become better performers while implementing the techniques I am teaching.
I ask my students what their goal is with singing and if they want to do it professionally. Then I do vocal exercises to find out which voice my student has whether it’s soprano, mezzo-soprano or altos. Once I know what type of voice my student has, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire from opera, musical theatre or pop. I always ask my students how they feel with a specific vocal exercise and if they notice a change in their voice. This is the way I keep my lessons engaging and my students are part of creating the lesson.
I ask my students which genre they like the most. Then I ask them which artist they admire and what they want to achieve in music. Once I know how passionate and committed my student is I set realistic goals and create the lesson. For every student I have a notice book so that I can write down what we did in each lesson and to see how they are growing and developing. I encourage my students to record the lesson and to take notes so that they can practice at home. That’s the way they can train their ears and pay attention to hitting the right pitch, articulation, pronunciation and emotional expression.
