I am passionate about sharing my love of music with my students. Teaching my students has provided my most rewarding and joyous experiences as a musician. My students' success are what make me thrive as a performer and a teacher. They challenge me as I do them, and together we flourish.
My teaching experience began in 2008 when I was in high school. I began teaching private lessons and quickly was asked to substitute for my teachers and to provide group technique classes at the local high school. I continued teaching through college, and opened my first full-time private studio in Boston, MA in 2015. Currently my studio has twenty students, and is always growing!
I do not have a set typical method I use for all my students because everyone is different. I begin with assessing a new student to find what their goals are and their commitment level is. All of my students find their lessons to be challenging, but my goal is to also provide them with a nurturing and creative atmoshpere. My students find that they make significant improvement every week.
My goal is to teach my students to be musicians, and for them to walk away every week with a deeper appreciation for music. I believe in nurturing all my students' creativity while challenging their skills to help them achieve their goals. I continuously acknowledge their achievements, but will remind them of what needs improvement. My students are given multiple opportunities to perform as a soloist or as part of a small ensemble in recitals throughout the year.
