I am a passionate and driven young musician who is in LA and wishes to mentor those the same way I was mentored. Although young, I have studied under esteemed musicians in the music scene and I have had great playing opportunities. I want to guide those wishing to grow as a brass player AND/OR composer. I am currently planning on attending Grad school and have been seen as a promising prospect by esteemed institutions such as USC's Jazz Studies Program and a Highly competitive post graduate program in Switzerland called Focusyear.
I have been playing professionally since 2018, with performances all over LA ranging from jazz combos to salsa bands. I also have notable performances such as opening for The Marias (2018), and recording trombone for BTS on their hit song, "ON" (2019). I also am a strong composer that focuses on as many genres as I play. I believe all musicians should be well rounded and be aware of the business and how to actually pursue this as a career. I have also recorded for many student projects as well as been a trombone player for many different groups, including Afro-Beat.
Regardless of level I cater and build a lesson plan for YOU. No two lesson plans will be the same. I also take your own preferences into mind upon what I feel you should study as well. For example, a younger student might focus on technique and theory but a higher level student might focus on their own creative voice or sound, or an audition. I also want to make sure these individuals are succeeding in what they want to do, so I will offer suggestions or help finding playing opportunities or work.
I focus on the journey over the destination when it comes to learning music. I want to make sure you love what you do in our lesson and I will also focus on the business and career side of it for more advanced musicians. I am understanding and more often than not I believe in looking at the positive aspect of things rather than the negative. I am realistic, but that does not ever mean pursuing music is unrealistic. I also do not mind any level or age, we all grow at our own pace. It is important to remember progress isn't linear.
