ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

1 year at university of South Carolina with symphony

Awards:

3 time teen piano champion Carnegie Hall performer 3 time all-state orchestra performer including top chair viola senior year

Overview:

I am motivated completely by teaching music and playing each and everyday. I want to share/pass down my talents with my students to make them more well rounded and find the passion and love that I have. Hard work and dedication are truly what separates teachers/performers but it all comes from the heart. I have competed in numerous competitions, all state orchestras, symphonies, and even graced the stage in New York at Carnigie Hall. It's truly up to you to take the tools that teach/give and make them your own!!

EXPERIENCE

My experience dates back to the tender age of 5 years old. (Piano). I started to learn then but it wasn't until I was 12 and started violin and viola that my passion for music came full circle. Recitals, concerts, weddings, and special events took place starting from age 13. I also played (still play) in church. By the time I was a junior in high school I had over 10 students while maintaining my studies in order to make them better. Each day is a new journey to further the music world by practicing:).

METHODS USED

Piano methods: Hal Leonard, Faber, Bastein, John Thompson, A Dozen a Day, and a few scale/arpeggios books. Once someone becomes a master with fingering, tempo, tone, etc....we can move on to the greater composers such as Chopin, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart.

Violin/Viola: Suzuki method as well as other books for scales, and different fingering techniques. Mastery of these pieces and literature leads to concerts, sonatas, and more. If the student wants to learn hymns, chord method, and sing along songs we can do that as well.

LESSON STYLE

Chord method....we can do it!!! Hymns and church music...we can do it!! Learning to play for fun...we can do it!! It's all up to the student and the time and effort you put in. I can teach anyone how to listen to a piece, write down the chords, and make it your own. I can teach you how to compose your own music. :) I can show you how to truly embrace and love music as much as I do. Success lies within each and every person. We all just have to dig down deep and find it. Please remember this is a great gift that I want to share with you!!
