I am a private instructor, as well as sectional coach. I received my Bachelors degree in violin performance from the University of Miami in May of 2015, and Earned my Masters in violin performance from Florida International University in May of 2019. I am a dedicated instructor, and I work hard to ensure that my students learn proper techinques and musical concepts. I am able to teach privately, as well as group lessons, if preferred. I am very flexible, friendly towards students; and energetic.
I have been teaching for two years, and I truly enjoy it. I was fortunate enough to coach middle school violinists last summer, and I was able to help them individually, as well as help them perform together. Teaching, for me, is a way of shaping the next generation of musicians or music enthusiasts. I can teach students of any ability level, and it is always a joy to work with and get to know a new student. I enjoy being there With students every step of the way, from the moment they start to when they feel they have achieved their goals on the instrument.
For beginning students, I teach them the basics first, and then simple and fun pieces that they can master. For intermediate students, I start them on method books and more advanced techniques. With advanced students, I help them refine their playing and personalize each piece that they learn. This makes it far more enjoyable for The student, as well as more relevant. I know that this relevance is what keeps students interested and playing their instruments in the long term, whether recreationally or professionally.
I first talk with my students to figure out their goals. Once a reasonable goal has been agreed upon, I enthusiastically help them jump right into playing their instrument. By breaking up portions of the lesson with review of simpler pieces, I encourage my students to play fun and simpler things as well, so that they do not beocme frustrated. I always bring my positive attitude to each lesson, and have the students write down what to work on after each lesson. This helps them stay organized And goal driven.
