I'm classical pianist and piano teacher. I performed in new jersey and pennsylvania. I played piano 25 years. Love teaching of all ages and levels. I use russian school approach. Knowledge of 50 operas and 100 piano pieces. I use every opportunity to play. I love to inspire others to learn and to play. Now i have large pool of students. We love music and each other. Also i learned about 50 operas in 7 years. I teach my students new improvisations of opera on the piano too. It adds new richness and variety.
I've been teaching students since high school. Building technique step by step and expanding repertoire. Deep emphasis on music theory. After we study together students should be able to get accepted to conservatory. For me consistent schedule is important. Students teach me something new just like i teach them. Sometimes people ask me to teach them popular songs, rock or metal. I can do that on the piano too. Piano is a very unuque instrument with rich variety of sound and endless possibiluties. Everyone welcome lets begin!
I have russian method way to teach. I was taught like this when I was young. Basics of music theory, names, titles, vocabulary. Then i teach first technical excersises. Once we master it we begin simple pieces to apply technique. Then we progress to more complex playing. And pick harder pieces to play. After 25 years of study I still practice my excersices daily. And I teach my students that too. And when we see progress and it becomes fun and not boring to keep studying. It will be fun for both of us to learn new things from each other.
My style is step by step. Where technique and repertoire mix. I try to pick pieces that are interesting for student. I also evaluate student abilities at the moment. I m trying to pick something that the student is ready for with something new to learn. And we progress further. I always show example from myself. So studemts sees it that its real and possible. And then i explain how i have done it. So my student understand. There is some homework. Student can communicate with me anytime. Will be fun and exciting.
