I start to play violin when I was 8 years old, I played in the professional orchestra for 30 years, at the same time I always love to teach, like to pass my musical life to the next generation, it is fun to teach and make me very happy to hear my students play beautiful violin, it is so important to help all my students to achieve their goals from winning a competition or move up in their orchestra levels. I believe all those success activities makes your students getting confident for themself, that is great for them
Teach violin is a commitment between a teacher and your student. Use all your teaching skills plus you very good demonstration to influence everyone, understand every student are different, so use the best way to let them know how to play better. Today’s teaching can use so much more online help. From CDs to video,YouTube and recording and video your students, to let them see and hear themselves, I think that is so direct way to let your students know what part of their playing need to be improved,
I believe reading music from early age is very very important. Kind like a wonderful habit, almost like some people always like to read a book. Treating for a sensitive ear also a very important for a future musician or a good listener, Keep the basics exercise is very good for the technique to grow. We should always start with scales, exercise, we have to find beautiful music, famous melodies and traditional violin repertoire, we should try to introduce all kinds styles and all times music to our students
I have a 3 years old student, for child do little we need start with a lot hands on help. Even hold the little right hand for help for the bow move, A lot times I need help left hand and press down fingers, Only take two or three weeks they will control their little hands . I fee the best ways to teach 7-16 years old kids are playing with them. Using metronome is big help to speed up and take Steady tempo. And let everyone know how fast will be sounds like Allegro. Get a good habit to always looking for th3 best tempo that is suitable for our music.
