Loyola merit scholorship. Tops scholorship
I teach piano voice and guitar. I have a bachelor’s in music therapy from Loyola university. I have 3 years experience teaching private lessons. I also taught general music at ridgewood prep for a year. I currently am activities coordinator at Lambeth House and teach music lessons on the side. My main instrument at Loyola was voice. I also had to take guitar and piano classes as well. I was in seven operas at Loyola. As a music therapy major, it was required to be comfortable with accompanying myself while singing.
I have about 3 years of private lesson teaching experience. I offer guitar, piano, and voice lessons. I believe that have a good foundation on any instrument can help with progressing in any music style. I enjoy teaching all ages and am used to adapting lessons for any age and level. Music can be beneficial for anyone, not just musicians. I always format my lessons around the particular student’s interest. I take teaching seriously and am very reliable. Music is good for the heart and soul and I get so much fulfillment out of that.
I create my own custom plans for each student. Different students have different needs and I format my lessons with that in mind. Keeping the student engaged while learning is the most important thing to me for lessons. My teaching pace is also based on the student and what he or she is capable of and comfortable with. I also make sure to help my students learn what they want to learn because some students may want to focus on performance while others might want to focus on music theory. The students’ wants are my priority.
I always try to get information about each student’s favorite kind of music. Music lessons are for learning but for also getting inspired. Each student is different and I always keep that in mind. I always teach at a pace comfortable to the student. My goal for my students to learn at least one new thing every lesson. I also make sure to give my students time to ask questions. My lesson teaching style also depends on what the student wants to get out of the lessons because different students are usually looking to get different things out of music lessons.
