I have been playing drums and percussion for over 25 years and teaching for over 15 years. I have taught all age and level of students. I love music. I love to share my love of music with my students. I will teach you what you want to learn, from rock and roll to marching band, I'm all about it. I believe we all share the same goal in music, we want to sound good! I will use my education, experience and passion to help you reach your goals.
I have a Master of Music Performance degree from Valdosta State University where I served as Graduate Assistant. I instructed the Marching Band drum line and steel drum band and performed with practically every ensemble the university offered. I have taught privately for over 15 years with students' ages ranging 5 to adult. I taught High School at Northview High School in Johns Creek GA, Middle School at Dekalb PATH Academy in Atlanta GA and at LaGrange College in LaGrange GA. I can be heard on iTunes playing with Kayla Taylor Jazz, Jeremy Aggers, and Golden.
Percussion in a huge family of instruments. As a percussionist, you might be ask to play drum set one night, congas the next, and triangle the night after that! Over time, I have collected many methods for all the different instruments and styles that the percussionfamily encompasses. Depending on what you want to learn, I have a method or we can tailor something just for you.
I believe the only way to get better at something is through dedication and practice. We will set goals for each lesson and for each practice week. I also believe that it's better to practice a little everyday than a lot once or twice a week. Step by step, little by little, any student can reach their goals.
