Overview:

I just recently moved to the Greater Phoenix Area.  I have a very strong passion for singing and bringing music to others.  I have three degrees in opera, but I have worked professionally singing everything from standard ballads to gospel songs. Performing all over the world has given me the opportunity to sing and learn things about other cultures that I would otherwise never have known about.  My most recent accomplishment was singing the leading role of Hoffman in the french opera Les contes d'hoffman in Perieuguex France in the summer of 2012.  I was recently added to the roster as a tenor at the Arizona Opera.  I hope to meet some wonderful new students here in Arizona!

EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching private voice lessons for the past three years.  I started teaching during my Professional Studies diploma at Cleveland Institute of Music.  I have taught students of all ages from young to old, and beginner to advanced.  My students are encouraged to participate in competitions and recitals.  I am always loking to bring in new students of all ages! I myself has performed in Europe as well as all over the United States so I hope to bring my knowledge from all my life experiences into the studio.

METHODS USED

I believe that each students is at a different level so you have to tailor everything based on that.  I believe that reading music is extremly important in the development of singing as well as enjoying music.  I believe that each student should know key signatures as well as what notes are on and off the staff.  For all students I focus on the following: Breath, Correct Vowel Placement.  I believe that if you have solid breath foundations then you can produce purer vowels and in turn if you have purer vowels then you have longer lasting and easier breath production.  There are obviously more factors than just these two, but I find that if you can do those two things well then getting the others aspects of singing come much easier.

LESSON STYLE

I encourage lots of questions from my students.  I will also ask them to tell me what they felt in there voice when I ask them to do something.  I believe that the voice teacher is only as good as his student can understand what they are actually being asked to do.  I set goals for my students, and ask that they practice every day for at least 30 minutes on various things that I may ask them to work on such as scales or a new song ect.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
