Hello Musika students. I have been playing the guitar for over 15 years. I had the opportunity of studying classical guitar with William Zito, one of the top classical guitar teachers on Long Island. I also earned a degree in Music Performance at Nassau Community College. Whether you're looking to prepare for college level music classes, or just want to pick up a new hobby, I will be there every step of the way. Music is my number one passion and I love to share it with anyone who is interested in learning. I hope to have the chance to work with you.
I have been teaching guitar since 2015. I taught guitar lessons at the Family Melody Center in Patchogue, NY for 5 years. From there I went on to teach privately in my own home studio. I can also come to you as well. All my students learn to read standard notation as well as tabs. I teach rock, blues, country, pop, but my specialty is classical guitar. While attending NCC I fell in love with classical guitar music, not only because it is beautiful but because it is very challenging. Whatever your goals are musically, I will be there to help you reach those goals.
For the beginner my method is to start with the basics. You will learn how to read standard notation, and tabs. We will work on technique, and help you develop a nice tone. I also like to incorporate music that the students want to learn to make it fun and exciting as well. Even though learning the guitar can be hard work, it should also be really fun. More advanced students can bring music they are working on, either for school or for themselves and we will find a way to make it more interesting and polished.
My teaching style is very relaxed, but I will push you when necessary. I will adapt my methods for each student. If your goal is to prepare for a college recital, then we will work very hard together to make sure you are prepared. For the more casual student, we will focus more on music that you want to learn while maintaining proper technique and practice methods. I want to make sure that everyone has a positive experience learning the guitar, but also feels like they are progressing at the same time.
