Hello to All: I have been making music my entire life. I have a Passion for bringing people together with the joy of Music. I perform on a variety of Instruments including piano, guitars, woodwinds, and with the voice. I have successfully assisted all ages in private and public lessons and classes. I have been able to provide many techniques for various goals of my students. I now consider many of them to be my musical peers. I do look forward to helping you along on your musical journey. I have over twenty years of experience in teaching public classes and private lessons. I have a great joy in discovering breakthrough moments where everybody can work together towards achieving their personal goals. Though it is true that every person is unique and different, it is always great where folks can get together and share the love that is music whether that be performing or simply sharing a tune with a loved one or neighbor. I have learned and studied under some truly fantastic players in my time. I look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge with prospective students.
There really is no limit to which methods work for people. Every person learns their own way, and it is true that a variety of methods work for an individuals learning process. I enjoy employing all ways of experiencing music including playing by ear, reading sheet music, learning music theory and its practical applications, as well as playing with others and truly feeling what the music is wanting to say. I do like using previous publications found in student books as well as printed sheet music alongside teaching methods that have been proven time and time again over the years from previous instructors.
I do tailor my music lessons for the individual student. There really is no making a general statement for a specific person. There are, however, some very fundamental aspects of learning music for all people which will definitely include practicing and mastering scales of all type, performing with others, and using the ears to truly listen to intervals and the emotions that are invoked by performing certain keys in specific styles. Having at least some goal in mind and working towards that musical goal will help a student achieve success in whatever they put forth on their instrument of choice as well as music as a whole. It will be ultimately extremely satisfying to express feelings through the notes as we take them from on the page to in the air. Sharing this joy of music will be also undeniably rewarding from student to student as well as performer to audience.

Michael starting teaching me piano just over 2 years ago. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and above all enthusiastic! He truly loves music and wishes to share that with his students. Michael is a highly talented musician and patient teacher. I had the pleasure to work closely with him on two pretty amazing projects over a couple years, and in the process, I learned a great deal from this talented musician, and had a great time. For a musical album project recorded at Mars Studios in Southfield, Mike composed the music, wrote the parts and arrangements, and played guitar, Bass and Keyboard on Eight Songs! He was really great in the Studio right to the final Mix-Downs. Then, on the Film Production "Warpath", Michael was the piano player in a musical scene, which we recorded also. I have played Guitar and some Keyboard for 30 years, and Learned so much from him.

Michael taught my four children various instruments. He is an intuitive and gifted musician, always able to incorporate changes and wishes. His patience for so many years is unbelievable! All kids started with piano and moved to different instruments after that. It was so convenient to get the lessons tailored to their schedule and at the house. We had kids in four different schools and it was a blessing not to add additional carpools. Michael was so accommodating and generous with his time. Another amazing gift were his stories about musicians and music history. A wonderful, highly recommended artist and teacher who did his daily best to let the children shine and believe in themselves.
