My teaching experience started a couple of years ago when I started teaching in my Home city. I have taught students of different ages while focusing on different styles with the goal of always trying to make the student happy by enabling them to learn the music that THEY want to learn. I know that the fundamental part of learning is to be passionate and to like the subject, every style can gift you different abilities and knowledges that can all translate into the same elemental thing which is music. I seek that my students challenge themselves and want to learn more by really enjoying the music that they are playing and seeing the progress that is constantly being made.
I try to custom my teaching style to the student that I am with so that the student can learn in the best way possible. I will always reinforce my lessons with method books such as William Leavitt's modern methods for guitar and reading studies, while also transcribing songs for students and creating lesson plans and diagrams for them. My main focus is that the student learns the music that they want to learn enabling them to have a real interest and passion in what they are learning. I will always provide courteous and polite feedback and encourage my students to do better by motivating them to always challenge themselves.
My main goal is to always create a positive learning environment where questions and room for improvement will always be tolerated and encouraged. The best way for a student to learn is to feel at ease with their teachers and trust them to impart the best education possible and I guarantee to do that. It is essential for me that a student wants to practice and wants to learn because it will indubitably make them better. I will always set goals for my students and encourage them to show me the music they want to learn and set my lesson plans around that, however, I will never sacrifice the fundamentals such as reading, scales and chords but I will adapt them to the music they want.
Miguel is a very talented musician! Excellent teacher with lots of knowledge. He is very patient and always trying to help his students do their best! His explanations are clear and understandable. My skills improved a lot with Miguel! I highly recommend him!
Throughout my life, I had never been good at playing musical instruments. Although I have always loved listening to music, with all genres included (Contemporary Classical to Latin Cumbia, and everything in between), my music-playing abilities had always been nigh useless. However, that all changed with Miguel. Miguel, who's not only a wonderful acoustic guitar teacher, is also one of the most humble, easy-going and attentive people that I have ever met; a perfect mix of qualities for a teacher of any kind. As a true expert in his field, both in the practical sense through his playing skills, and the theoretical side with his Berklee Cum Laude, I have no doubt that his music classes will be priceless for anyone who is fortunate enough to take them. Moreover, his broad musical background helped me to finally find a love for the acoustic guitar, and has been a gateway to seeking to refine my abilities.
Miguel has an excellent ability and knowledge of string based instruments proven to help beginners as well as experts. His wide range in musical styles is sure to satisfy your every taste, from a superficial electric pop to a hard, tear inducing blues. I wish him nothing but the best!
Amazing teacher! He is a very talented musician and explains everything really well. Miguel is super patient and a fun teacher to have.I took lessons with him for months anr my guitar skills improved immensely.
Excellent teacher! His explanations are always very clear and understandable, he adapted very well to my preferred style of music and always knew what would keep me motivated. His lessons were always fun and productive, it's a shame Miguel is no longer in Mexico...
Miguel was extremely helpful throughout the years. I learned many things from chord positions to composition with him. He has a nice attitude and cares for his students deeply. I wish him success in his career as a teacher or in the various projects he has!
Miguel is a great teacher. He has lots of knowledge and experience and a lot of patience. During the 3 months he taught me I managed to get rid of bad habits, learn music notation and play those songs Ive always wanted to play. He's very flexible and also very motivating, I really enjoyed our lessons.
