I am very motivated and passionate about music and my students success. I get a ton of joy out of the smile i put on students of all ages faces in both guitar and voice! I have been playing Guitar and Singing for over 15 years and Have Performed shows with several bands in many differant states. I love all genres and am able to transcribe quickly and efficiently for my students and help them progress very quickly doing mostly what they love. I am laid back and easy to talk too and would love to Teach you or your child!!
I have taught off and on for 12 years as a Guitar and Voice instructor while also pursuing my own musical endeavors. I have learned and have been mentored by some of the best teachers i could have ever asked for , which keeps my love for music alive every day! I know how if a student isn't having fun and can't talk to me freely i am not doing my job properly. I strive to bring out the greatness in my students with a loose no pressure approach. I play cover songs of all genres and can learn any new songs within minutes for my students.
I would first establish the level of my student and figure out which direction suits them best to achieve there own personal goals. Someone first starting off , We would first concentrate on finger strength. Excercises that are fun but also help build the neccasary tools. Basic chords , scales , and basic strumming is a good example of where i would start a guitar student. Beginners of voice lessons we would be concentrating on breathing excercises and scales at first. Fun singalongs always sets the tone also for great progress!!
My teaching style is a non pressure , have fun while learning approach. I try to show the therapy music can provide if you stick with it. We will enjoy watching amazing progress together and go with the students taste in music as a good place to go with song choices. Helping students play there favorites while learning the art of guitar or voice gives me the best reward!
