While attending high school I received superior ratings for vocal contests.
I tried out for American Idol, X-Factor, America Idol, and America’s Got Talent.
I have a YouTube channel show casing my singing.
I have performed at Festivals.
One of my greatest pleasures is developing my own quirky and fun methods to help my students reach their musical goals and dreams. I graduated from Cameron University in May 2011. My degree was in Fine Arts, with a major in Foreign Languages, and a minor in music. I can sing in over 15 different languages and I speak 4 languages. I have also tried out for X-Factor, American Idol, The Voice, and America’s Got Talent. I have also travelled and worked abroad in Europe. Travelling abroad allowed me to sharpen my vocal and linguistic abilities.
My teaching experience goes back to my high school and junior high years. In high school I tutored in both English and Spanish. In college I tutored and did language exchange's for the German, Spanish, and French languages. All of these experiences allow me to feel confident enouagh to teach students of every background. My linguistic abilities have allowed me to meet people from all over the world. I am confident that I can develop methods to help my students win competitions, and prepare for recitals.
I cater my methods to age, culture, and interests of students. This allows them to achieve success at their own pace. Assessing the students age, interests, needs, and culture will contribute to the creation of their lessons. I also find that knowing the students levels and vocal ranges can also be helpful in creating lessons for the students. It is also important to know a vast repertoire of musical styles so that one can create relatability with the students. If I am not familiar with a style of music I will make an effort to learn more about it so that I can show my students that I care about their interests.
My teaching styles are very relaxed, I try to use my gifts to guide the students but ultimately allow them to drive the courses. Ultimately, it’s about providing the right instruction so that the students can lead the way. I also believe in sharing what inspires me in order to further inspire my students in their goals. This introduces them to new interests and this allows an exchange of ideas. This makes the learning process easier and more enjoyable for both the students and teachers. This contributes to a good flow in the classroom.
