I am a dynamic and passionate instructor with 7 years' experience with proven teaching, guidance and counseling skills. Excellent communicator and time manager. Possess a strong track record in improving test scores and teaching effectively. I graduated from University of Sarajevo in 2014. with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theory, Pedagog and Piano. Performing all over the Europe has been one of the greater experiences of my music career. Highly motivated educator of music and performance arts adept in creating exciting and entertaining leaning environments.
I have been playing the piano for 13 years and have been teaching children and adults for the past 7 years. I teach students of almost all levels proper technique, how to read music (efficiently), practical theory and history so that students can understand what the composer was doing and how to really listen to what they are playing. I am an experienced pop, electronic and Film music keyboardist. I work as a DJ as well and I have my own music production studio for the past 5 years. Sometimes I like to use technology for better experience and environment in teaching.
For young beginner students, I will begin with the Farber or Alfred all-in-one books. Once the student has progressed through the book, we will move on international piano books. I have used many of the pedagogy books, and I know how to find best curriculum for getting students to where they need to be technically and musically. Most of my youngest students will play a few of the pieces from Alfred book. If they progress quickly, then they will play something they like the most. For adults, I like to identify their interests first and work to get them playing that style as soon as possible. I am happy to find easier versions of songs or pieces if it is necessary; this all depends on the technical level of the student.
My teaching style is fast paced and dynamic quickly adapting to the needs of the individual student. I ensure that lessons are fun and that music can be a means of relaxation. I adapt each lesson for the individual, their interests and their needs. I have found that constant encouragement keeps students engaged and eager to learn and to let the music itself challenge the student. By finding out what a student is most interested in we can keep their love of music alive and use it to help them further learn to reach their goals. Students in private lessons not only need a teacher, but a motivator to help them stay interested in music.
