I desire to instill the love of music in my students, teaching them to both enjoying and explore the world of sound. I obtained my Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Ball State University. I began taking piano lessons at the age of 6, and began teaching piano at the age of 18. I have had experiences playing for churches, and other instrumentalists. Also, I have been the performance accompanist for the concert choir at Ball State University. I taught piano lesson since 2008 and enjoy teaching students, having previously instructed in one on one lessons and group piano classes of various ages and levels.
I started to teach private piano lessons since 2008, I have almost 8 years piano teaching experience. Back to my undergraduate days, I was running my home studio for 5 years in Beijing. I obtained my Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Ball State University. As a graduate assistant during my Master degree, I taught students in one on one lesson and group piano class of various ages and levels. In my lessons, I always try to explore students talents and help them to grow their passion on music in each lesson.
For beginning students who are children, I would like to start with Hal Leonard's All-In-One Piano Lessons or Alfred's Premier Piano Course. For adults, the Hal Leonard's Adult Piano Method is a good book to start with. For intermediate and advanced students, I will figure out the appropriate method books for them at the first time we meet. I like to encourage my students, help and motivate them enjoy the lesson.
As a piano teacher, I like to know the goal of each student and help he/she accomplish that with joy and passion on music. During my lessons, Students not only learn how to play the piano, but also music theory and history. I help students track their progress in thier journal.
