I have been teaching private instrumental music lessons for two years now. I have gone through a four year degree program in which I've had the opportunity to gain peer teaching experience as well as teaching within various school districts for individual, small, and large ensemble settings. I have also been teaching dance at my mom's studio for the past 6 years. I help instruction with dance moves and group coordination as well as helping guide the students' ears to the specific musical lines they are interpreting. This experience has allowed me to work with students of all learning styles and adjust my teaching to what works best for each individual student.

I start all students with getting a firm grasps of the basics of tone production and air support. I do this through long tone exercises as well as scale work to start learning more notes on the instrument. I focus on slowing incorporating more dynamics, articulation, and time signatures from there. I then start to tailor instruction to goals the student has, whether that be for a school ensemble, a solo performance, or other musical goal such has playing in a gigging band. I want to give students the tools for creating success in music no matter what their interest is.
