I am a Boston based musician who currently works as a pianist at Boston Ballet School and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. I graduated from New England Conservatory with an MM in Collaborative Piano, and received my BM in Piano Performance from New York University. I have performed as a soloist and with ensembles at venues including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. I enjoy a busy career collaborating with dancers, singers, and instrumentalists. I have also taught students of all ages, and love to share my passion for piano with others!
I have over ten years of experience as a piano teacher, and have taught students of all ages and levels of experience. Learning piano is such a fun and enriching experience, and I love sharing this joy with others! With each new student, I like to evaluate the goals and interests of that student, so that lessons can be as fun and productive as possible. In my teaching, I focus on helping students play expressively and master technical challenges. There are endless possibilities in piano playing I have been playing piano for twenty years, and still learn something new everyday!
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with method books, and focus on teaching my students how to read notes and rhythms. With young students, I also prepare fun games and activities that will help them become acquainted with the keys on the piano. As the student progresses, I find and introduce new repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level. For teenagers and adults, I find out what the student is interested in learning and how I can best help them reach their goals! Every student is unique, and it's important that learning piano is an enjoyable and satisfying endeavor.
I love to motivate and inspire my students! One thing I focus on is teaching my students how to practice efficiently and effectively. I strongly believe that anyone and everyone can enjoy playing the piano. Learning to play the piano takes discipline, but it is very rewarding! With consistent practice and lessons, students will progress in their goals and gain a skill that they can enjoy all throughout their life. If my students have questions about their practicing, I encourage them to reach out to me during the week as well.
