I am a Kurdish violinist, I have doctorate degree in violin performance and Master's degree in orchestral conducting and violin performance. I am a passionate and supportive instructor who love working and sharing my musical experience with studens. I have has oportunities for perform and conduct at Golden hall in vienna the capitol of classical music. I have established Kurdish string orchestra and with the orchestra we won second place with excellent success in the international youth competition in Vienna.
I have eight years teaching experience in collage with differnt levels. I have my student working with orchestras, recording career, Tv music programs.. I hold the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance and a Master of Music degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Kansas. I taught violin and chamber music for eight years at the Sulaimany Fine Arts Institute in Kurdistan. I also taught viola for one year and for several years in the field of Middle Eastern music theory (Maqams). . I am the founder of the Kurdish String Orchestra, which received second prize in 2007 at the internationally-known Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. I recruited and retained the members.
While there are certain etudes that I give to many of my students such as Schradieck, Sevcik, Kreutzer, Rode, and Dont, I do not go by any particular violin "method" in my lessons. Rather, my lessons are catered to each student's individual differences and characteristics. Every student has his/her strength and weakness, and they are not always the same among the students. I carefully look at what needs most attention on each student, and come up with the best approach that I could think of based on my knowledge and experience as a violinist and teacher, so the student can overcome the difficulty in the most efficient manner. That means I may have several students work on the same piece, but what each student will get out of the piece could be slightly different; one student may need some work on rhythms and intonation, while another student should learn how to play more expressively. Detail matters
I will give my student a scale, and Etude and a piece from violin repertoire. My essential teaching style is based on the Galamian’s Principles of Violin Playing & Teaching. I believe that starting with fundamentals of violin techniques, left hand and right hand techniques is essential. After mastering the fundamentals, students are able to grow into their own musicalityand find a connection between the techniques and interpretation, where I would teach the importance of musical phrasing and understanding the structure of a piece of music. I also realize that the Robert Gerle’s book, The Art of Practising the Violin to be a valuable resource for my students who often are still learning good practice techniques. Gerle’s practice strategies are invaluable because they allow students to reach technical mastery effectively.
