I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2014, I graduated from Berklee college Of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Piano Performance. Performing is one of the greatest loves of my life. As a musician, I've had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people; Alejandro sans, Javier Limon and Henry stone to name a few. None of my accomplishments would have been possible without the constant support and encouragement from my teachers. As they did for me, I hope to make a difference in your musical journey. I know that together we can create unforgettable stories.
My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching at a music summer camp 3 years ago. Since then, I have been teaching private students. I encourage regular practice sessions. This is one of the key points I like to emphasize for beginners especially, as it tends to help the student progress, gain a passion for the instrument, and build discipline. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy music, motivate them to practice and continue to learn. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can figure out who they are musically, feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages!
Every student has a different learning style. It is my job as the instructor to figure out what that is. Typically, I learn where my student’s interests lie in order to better engage them. At the same time, I teach them the fundamentals of music, which play an equally important role in their education.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student’s desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.
