I am a passionate Instructor, who loves working with students, and sharing a musical experience. I have a minor in music Composition from The University of Colorado, as well as an associate degree in music production from Marymount Manhattan College, and I have technical performance training on guitar, piano, and vocals from The New York Conservatory of Music. I am also currently attending Full Sale University for music production. I have also played Upright Bass with the New York symphony Orchestra.
While attending school in NYC, I worked directly with Lincoln center as a musician and composer for films, plays, and orchestral pieces. I have also worked in studios and theaters in both Colorado and New York as a producer for Audio and Music. Also, I have given lessons while attending school in both Colorado and New York. I have played bass, piano, and guitar for multiple productions, bands, and studios. I have excessive experience in all form of music from performance to production to teaching.
To begin, I will start with chords and scales to get a student used to understanding of notes and progressions. Next, I would go over theory and technique in order to blossom a stylistic way of playing for the student. Next, I would start with simple etudes and pieces for each student to learn and master. Afterwards, the student will choose a piece they want to learn. Finally, the student will decide the genre and style of later pieces they would like to learn. If requested, i will teach the student how to write their own piece and find their own sound. Each instrument, and player is different, so depending on the student my approaches may change.
I find the most rewarding thing about teaching music is the spark that ignites in each individual student to blossom into a musician. The importance of each student is reflected in individual curriculum designed or each student. I believe in the idea that no student is the same. This being said I support individuality, because it allows for the horizons of the next musical generation to be innovative. I am excited to help blossom this next generations. Finally, I hope to spike inspiration in each and every one of my students.
