Overview:

Noah W. recently earned a master’s degree in classical guitar performance at the University of Cincinnati (CCM), where he served as a teacher’s assistant. He also holds a bachelor’s in classical guitar performance from UC and an associate’s degree in music from Sinclair Community College. Noah mainly plays classical guitar but also has experience performing rock and pop. He has participated in Master Classes for guitarists such as Oscar Ghiglia, Mak Grgíc, Paul O’dette, and Frank Wallace. Noah has experience teaching a variety of instruments, including the guitar, bass, and ukulele. Through his lessons, Noah strives to teach in a manner that makes music both exciting and educational for his students.

EXPERIENCE

I began giving private guitar lessons 5 years ago, in 2018. Since then I have taught both privately and at music studios. Classical guitar is my expertise, I earned both a Masters and Bachelors degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Cincinnati, where I served as a Teacher's Assistant and taught multiple guitar courses. I have performed many different types of music on different instruments, including guitar, ukulele, bass, theorbo, Baroque guitar, and mandolin. Though I specialize in classical music, I have extensive experience in pop, rock, and country. I played lead guitar in a rock cover band in 2017/2018.

METHODS USED

- Beginners will start with "Alfred's Basic Guitar Method" (Bass and Ukulele students will use the Alfred's book that applies to their instrument). Once a solid foundation is established, we will branch out into music that the student is interested in playing. - Classical Guitar students will use Charles Duncan's "A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar." - Intermediate and Advanced students will learn what they are interested in - rock/pop/country/etc. - Intermediate and Advanced students will also learn music theory and scales, at least at a basic level. I am happy to teach advanced music theory if the student is interested.

LESSON STYLE

I teach guitarists at all levels, from complete beginners to professional musicians looking to try out a new instrument. I make lessons as informative as possible, but music is supposed to be fun. If you aren't enjoying our lessons, just tell me! I am always willing to try new things to keep my students engaged and happy. Everyone is different, I will do everything I can to teach in a manner that is efficient and enjoyable for you. Learning an instrument is more than just playing music, it teaches discipline and perseverance. I love playing music and I do everything I can to make sure my students feel the same way!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
